Accommodating & Celebrating Neurodiversity

Biodiversity vs Monocrops

When natural diversity is replaced with endless rows of just one species, plants can be easier to manage at first, but they produce low-quality industrialized sameness and unsustainable growth. The same is true for the workplace. Successful companies are embracing diversity & inclusion, but what about those with non-visible differences? Up to 20% of the population is neurodiverse; this includes ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder), Dyslexia, and other conditions. Through basic education about what life is like for neurodivergent folks, plus a shift in values, companies can see huge benefits in their workforce productivity. We’ll discuss how to build on the strengths of these beautiful minds and accommodate their sensory and processing needs.

The founder and CEO of Nature’s Boardroom, Heather Pelletier, has ADHD. This session is designed to allow neurodivergent minds to flourish. She knows first-hand how traditional meeting formats feel exclusive.

The content of this workshop was written by Heather Pelletier & Brianne Sampson and developed using the research of Suzanne Simard, Peter Wohlleben, Adam Grant, Brad Shuck, and more.
