Heather grew up beachcombing, exploring forest trails, and making nature her playground. She continued her passion for the great outdoors with a Geography degree from UBC, and then specialized in promoting Western Canada as a world-class destination for business events that attracts and inspire great minds that can get out of their hotel and explore our stunning natural beauty. She continued to study fascinating stories about ecology while developing and hosting outdoor group activities for influencers and executives. Alongside her work as a naturalist and event producer, Heather gained traction as an industry leader and strategist for employee experience programming. This included gaining expertise in learning theory, organizational psychology, behavioural economics, leadership principles, and corporate culture.
During the pandemic, Heather was deeply impacted by the effects of the wide-spread societal languishing, the cultural reckoning, and then the great resignation. She knew her expertise and innovative ideas could help people feel more connected and help companies with the growing problem of how to foster engagement among a remote workforce with a new set of values. From that Nature’s Boardroom was born.
