Our Story

Our purpose

We inspire participants to find new connections and new ideas by learning about the natural ecosystem around them. Ecology is a wise teacher, and the forest is our classroom. We aim to deliver experiences that have a wide appeal, but are unlike anything you have done before.

Our Intension

After 15 years working with companies designing group experiences, our lead producer and facilitator, Heather Pelletier, aimed to create a company that curated transformative experiences at a realistic price-point, in an accessible location, with a flexible group size, a short time commitment and made use of new technologies. She knows intimately what HR professionals advocate for, what leaders want, and what will truly create a long-standing impact on participants. She wanted activities that ticked all the boxes: networking, learning, problem-solving, socializing, idea generation, team building, professional development, culture building, creating memories, finding purpose, fostering belonging, and deepening connection to each other, to ones’ authentic self.

The Problem we are Solving

As people move to more virtual work, comes a greater need for more connection. Leaders know that opportunities to build and share company culture are often limited, but of the utmost importance. Gatherings must be intentional. Gone are the days when we can expect people to spend their own personal time (and money) drinking with colleagues after work and assume that counts as teambuilding. Silly games aimed at employee engagement certainly have their place, but they can create a few eye roll moments and can seem superficial. Bringing in notable speakers for a team meeting can be a great way to educate and inspire, but the costs are huge, the format is static, it involves more time with bums in seats, requires a large venue, and the time to connect is limited.

The way we connect, learn, and engage has been massively disrupted recently; Nature’s boardroom has been on the leading edge of this transformation and offers new and creative solutions that businesses value and participants want.

Our Inspiration

In Vancouver and Victoria, we are privileged to live on the edge of nature. Within 10 minutes we can be in a busy downtown core and then surrounded by trees listening to nothing but birds in one of our many parks. Even more, we live in a Temperate Rainforest. It is a unique eco-system found only along the coast of the Pacific Northwest and in some parts of Argentina that is known around the word for its stunning natural beauty of lush dense forests, year-round greenery, mild climate, diverse species, and large areas of protected wilderness.
